Zengwen reservoir

Located at the junction of Jiayi county and Tainan City, Zengwen reservoir is the largest reservoir in Taiwan. Historical evolution

The Zengwen River Basin, with a total length of 138.47 km and a drainage area of 17 square kilometers, is the fourth largest river in Taiwan Province, with an average annual flow of 1.6 billion cubic meters. In the early stage, the Japanese technician batian and Yi of Jianan grand canal were designed to build Wushantou reservoir by using the guantian stream, a tributary of Zengwen River, and a dam was set up in Dapu stream to take water from the tunnel to Wushantou reservoir to supply Jianan land However, the water intake rate is only 25% of the total flow. Therefore, if the dam is directly built in the main stream of Zengwen River, Dapu River, and connected with Wushantou reservoir in series, the amount of irrigation can be increased. Therefore, in 1939, batian and Yi proposed to build a dam at the dam site, but they gave up because of the war. After the restoration of Taiwan, in view of the gradual shortage of irrigation water, the Water Conservancy Bureau of Taiwan Province started planning in 1959, and finally selected liutengtan as the dam site and adopted the earth rock dam design. In July 1966, the Zengwen Reservoir Construction Committee and Engineering Bureau were established, and the construction started on October 31, 1967. After six years of construction, it was officially completed on October 31, 1973. In 1974, the Zengwen Reservoir Management Bureau was established, which officially took over the reservoir and engineering facilities and started operation. In 1998, the Zengwen Reservoir Management Bureau, the Southern Water Resources Development Engineering Office of the water resources bureau and the agongdian Reservoir Management Committee merged to establish the Southern Water Resources Bureau of Taiwan. In 1999, it was changed into the Southern Water Resources Bureau of the water resources department of the Ministry of economy. Not far from longzhiling, there is a tourist resort xiaoputuo mountain, which has the beauty of leisure, religion, culture and art. The park has the most magnificent dragon boat, the most spectacular stalactite cave and the most natural landscaping. The head and tail of the shell fish with soft meat and few bones are boiled in soup, and the middle part is steamed, which is economical and practical.
