Wuling

Wuling is the highest point of Taiwan's highway. Every year, a lot of cycling teams start from the local area and come here. Wuling

Wuling, formerly known as Nanling and saokujian Anbu, is the highest point of Taiwan highway at 3275 meters above sea level. It is located at 31.5 kilometers of tai14jia line, in the east of tailuge National Park. It is a scenic spot in the forest recreation area of Hehuan mountain. The administrative division belongs to Ren'ai Township, Nantou County.

Geography

Wuling is the saddle between the East peak and the main peak of Albizia julibrissin, so it has a good view. It is adjacent to the main peak of Albizia julibrissin the northwest, overlooking the hinterland of Albizia julibrissin between Kunyang and tai14a line in the southwest. Below Wuling is the main stream birthplace of Zhuoshui River, where a great collapse wall of Valley head erosion is formed. According to geographer Yang Jianfu's research on Taiwan's encircled valley topography, there are different landforms at the two ends of Wuling. Looking to the cold training center, there is a U-shaped valley. Looking to the other direction, there is a V-shaped Valley in the upper reaches of the chuoshui river. This is an iceberg topography formed by the action of glaciers.

The whole geology of Hehuan mountain belongs to the Miocene Lushan layer. Because Wuling is located in the high mountain area, the parking lot and Tai 14 a line are built here, and the hillside is cut and excavated. As a result, the stratum of the slope is exposed and exposed to the alpine climate. It is easy to be affected by weathering, freezing and wedge cracking. Before the Crusade in Taroko, there was already a fan Road (or she Road) used by the aborigines to travel to and from the tribes or hunt. After Zuo Matai, the governor of Taiwan, took office, in order to carry out the five-year plan of administering Tibet, Shi qiaoheng, the director of Nantou department, set up a road digging team in April 1914 to build and widen the roads along the Tibet Road, so as to assist the expeditionary army in replenishment. On May 16 of the same year, Zuo Matai led his troops to fight along the road opened by the operation team to the governor of Hehuan mountain. On the way, he passed the East peak of Hehuan mountain and the saddle between the main peaks of Hehuan mountain. In memory of Zuo Matai, Zuo Jiujian was named "Zuo Jiujian".

After the national government moved to Taiwan, the Wushe supply line was started on June 9, 1957 to meet the supply demand of Zhongheng highway. The section from Kunyang to Hehuan Yakou was opened up by infantry and production operation Corps. The line passed through the saddle between the East peak and the main peak of Hehuan. At that time, it was located in the south side of Hehuan mountain, so it was called "Nanling".
