Zifu Temple

Zifu temple, located in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, is located in Dongkeng village, Xinan town, Chenghai District. Dongkeng village is the earliest group of villages in the city. Its yuandingshan Zifu temple is the earliest temple in Chengyi. Zifu temple was founded in the third year of Tianfu (983) of the Late Jin Dynasty in the Five Dynasties. It is the reading place of Chenghai people, mingjinshi, and liyueting county magistrate of Longxi. On March 12, 2003, the foundation laying ceremony for the reconstruction of Daxiong hall was held at Yuanding mountain (the foot of Sanji mountain), the original site of the temple. The millennium old temple will play a brilliant role again.

It is said that the great master Guanyin left a verse here, saying: "the red beads are spread in the green field, and Zifu temple is revived."

Brief introduction to temples

According to Li Shuji, the county magistrate, and Wang Kai, the county magistrate of the Qing Dynasty, who rebuilt the nine temples in Chenghai county annals, it is said: "Zifu temple. At the foot of Sanji mountain in Dongkeng village, 20 Li northeast of the city, it was built in 1898 in the third year of Tianfu in the Five Dynasties, with 33 hectares of land.

At the end of Jiajing period in Ming Dynasty, the temple was sold and moved to another place in the early period of the state Dynasty (1666). In 1683, the monk of dansha temple was like Wang Dai, the magistrate of Guangcheng county. It was moved to the head of Dongkeng village, with jinshaqiao in the front and Sanji mountain in the back. It was donated by Yang Zhongyue, the Grand Historian of Chenghai. Today it is commonly known as "dongkenggui."

Folklore

There are many different opinions about why the temple was destroyed. It is popular among the people. After the temple was destroyed in those years, Guanyin left a verse here, saying, "the green field is paved with red beads, and Zifu temple is revived." In fact, the red persimmon fruits all over the mountain are not beads!

In April 2002, it was approved by the Municipal Bureau of religion to be rebuilt. People from all walks of life paid more than 500000 yuan to build temporary halls and houses first, and to shape the Buddha statues of the three Tathagata. In the first phase of the project, it is planned to invest 3 million yuan and build 400 square meters. Later, the temple of the heavenly king, the Sutra library, the Guanyin Pavilion and the dizang Pavilion will be built.

Because the temples and villages are the earliest in Chenghai history, there are a lot of cultural relics. In 1972, Lin Yinggen, the leader of nanzhishan farm, discovered a pottery tile tube of the Five Dynasties, 30 cm long and 2 cm thick, in the shape of a roll. After being washed, it was used as a sleeping pillow. Later, it was discovered by the archaeologist Mr. Chen Xiaoche. It has been handed over to the city museum for collection. The revival of the Millennium famous temple will become a good place for worshiping Buddhism and Zen in ancient villages, and a new tourist and archaeological spot in Chenghai.

The main hall is hidden in the shade of persimmon trees. Up the stairs, there is a big censer in front of the hall. The incense sticks in the censer are sparse and orderly. It is a sign that they have been cleaned. In the hall, there are several gold statues, including Buddha, Buddha Buddha, Guanyin of the South China Sea and Bodhisattva of dizang. The fragrance of Sanskrit incense fills the hall, and the birds on the citron are singing together, which is the most natural scenery in the mountains.

Couplets in the temple

What does a couplet on the door frame of the Zen House say: "the Golden Millet in the world, the white lotus in the society at the beginning"? I took it out of the mountain gate to the noisy market.
