Waishi village is 23 kilometers away from Jinan, where the waterfall of waishi reservoir (after rain) has the wind of Jiuzhaigou (July, August and September). You can travel all the year round. May to October is the best season. There is no hotel or ticket.

The origin of the name

It was called Jieshi in ancient times. Because there is an ancient stone arch bridge in Qing Dynasty, with a pavilion on the bridge deck. Beside the village, there is a broad-leaved forest with a length of 2 km and a width of 100 m. There are camphor, maple, Osmanthus fragrans and other tree species in the forest. There are all kinds of strange stones on the side of the forest, so it was renamed waishi.

Evolution of administrative districts

In Song Dynasty, it belonged to Fuyang township; in Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Yangxia township; in Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to the 15th capital; in Republic of China, it belonged to Hongdun township. Weishi township was established in 1949, and it was changed into waishi brigade in 1958. Eight villagers' groups, including waiyi, waier, waisan, Xidong, sakou, Zhaoyuan, Wuyuan and Jishang, were incorporated into Hongdun commune. In October 1984, it belonged to Weimin Township and was changed into waishi village.

There are pyrite, pyrite, potash feldspar, kaolin, quartzite, clay and building stone in the area. The main natural disasters are drought, waterlogging, hail, frost, lightning and so on. The most serious flood occurred on June 22, 1998. The water level of futun River exceeded the highest in history. Wai-1, wai-2, wai-3, Xidong, sakou, houses collapsed, roads and bridges were damaged, power supply was cut off, and crops failed.
