The turtle reserve is located in haiguiwan, Gangkou Town, Huidong County. Sea turtles, commonly known as green turtles, are second class protected animals in China.

This area has a subtropical climate. Along the beach, there are many subtropical plants. Every year, sea turtles lay eggs here. It is a traditional breeding ground for sea turtles. In 1985, the "South China Sea Turtle Resources Protection Station" was established, and the Turtle Bay was designated as a nature reserve, covering an area of 8 square kilometers.
