Tingsiqiao battle site

The site of tingsiqiao battle in the northern expedition is located on the western hill of the west side of Beijing Guangzhou railway in tingsiqiao town of Xianning City, more than 500 meters away from tingsiqiao town. It is a key cultural relics protection unit of the State Council. With mountains in the East and lakes in the west, this place is a natural danger. It is a must for military strategists. During the first Civil Revolutionary War, from August 25 to 26, 1926, Ye Ting independent regiment and other officers of the Fourth Army of the national revolutionary army launched an unprecedented fierce battle with Wu Peifu's Beiyang army. The Northern Expedition army defeated Wu Peifu's Beiyang army, which made the reactionary warlord Wu Peifu depressed and opened up the way for the Northern Expedition army to march into Wuchang, and wrote a glorious page in the history of Chinese revolution . In memory of the heroes who died in the battle, tombs, monuments and memorial pavilions of the martyrs were built here. The tomb has a rectangular top, solemn and generous, surrounded by short walls and pines and cypresses; the monument is square cone-shaped, towering and upright, with the front engraved with the word "memorial to the soldiers killed in the northern expedition of the Fourth Army of the National Revolutionary Army"; the pavilion is hexagonal, square and round top, beautiful and straight, quite spectacular. Covering an area of 2500 square meters, it is a national key cultural relic protection unit and a patriotic education base in Hubei Province.
