Xiangyan temple in Taizhou

Xiangyan temple is located at the foot of Lianhua Mountain in Luqiao fengjiang town. In the Tang Dynasty, Jianzhen, an eminent monk of our country, was invited to Japan to preach Buddhist scriptures. Due to the dangerous wind and waves on the sea, Jianzhen's eastward voyage failed three times. In 745, Jianzhen prepared to go to the East for the fourth time. In order to find the best way to the sea, they went from Ningbo to Huangyan via Tiantai and Linhai, and lived in the Chan Lin Temple 40 miles southeast of Huangyan for more than ten days. The temple was renamed Xiangyan temple in the Northern Song Dynasty, which is a well-known temple.
