Geological relics of silicified wood in Xinchang

As a national geopark, Xinchang silicified wood Park in Zhejiang Province is praised by experts as "the treasure house of silicified wood, the representative of compound Danxia landform and the holographic archives of volcanic activity". More than 300 silicified trees have been found, of which the height is 14 meters and the diameter is 3.5 meters. The original woody Stone Forest in Dafosi scenic area of Xinchang has been recorded by Guinness of the world in 2002. The newly discovered new species of Nanyang Chinese fir in Xinchang is in a different Cretaceous flora from that in northern China. It is a new species genus, which has not been reported in the literature at home and abroad. It provides a standard for global research and comparison of the types of Nanyang Chinese fir, and is also an important topic in the study of silicified wood Big breakthrough. The buried structures of six silicified wood layers in the park provide a complete record of the formation process of the geological history of the Guantou period in the early Cretaceous, which is rich in content and extraordinary in the world.
