Xiapu is located on the West Bank of Taiwan Strait and northeast of Fujian Province. In this 1489 square kilometer old and beautiful land, there is a population of 500000, of which the She nationality accounts for about 50000. Here, the blue sea is full of color, the beach is covered with gold, the mountains are covered with emerald green, and the green fields are flowing with elixir. It looks like a bright pearl inlaid on the coast of the East China Sea. Xiapu has a long history. As early as the Neolithic period, the ancient Yue people lived here. Wenma county was established in 282 A.D. in the third year of Taikang in the Jin Dynasty, which was called Changxi in the Tang Dynasty and Funing Prefecture in the Yuan Dynasty. In the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed Funing Prefecture, and Fuguo county (originally called Xiapu) was added. Historically, it was the political, economic and cultural center of eastern Fujian, known as "the hub of Fujian and Zhejiang" and "Zou Lu on the seashore". Huzhen tower, standing on the top of Longshou mountain, was built by Huang Dalai, commander of Funing Prefecture in the 32nd year of Kangxi reign of Qing Dynasty (1693 AD). During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, it was rebuilt into a seven storey stone pagoda, which is magnificent.
