Panzhihua Lanjia volcano

synonym

Lanjia volcano generally refers to Panzhihua Lanjia volcano

Panzhihua Lanjia volcano, also known as Lanjia volcano, is located in Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province, with an altitude of 1620 meters.

Brief introduction

Panzhihua Lanjia volcano is located in the north of Panzhihua East District, which is a part of Lanjian iron mine. Lanjian iron ore observation platform is built in the north of Lanjia volcanic pass.

Source of formation

Lanjia volcano in Panzhihua is originated from the Hercynian gabbro which intrudes into the Upper Sinian marble. The rock body is 19 long and 5 wide. It can be divided into six sections: Zhujiabaobao, Lanjia volcano, jianbaobao, daomakan, Gongshan and nalaqing due to fault cutting. The rhythmic layers of magmatic liquid differentiation and crystallization differentiation are developed, the layered structure of the rock mass is clear, and the exposed thickness is thick.

In December 1984, the viewing platform of Lanjian Iron Mine was built, which is located at the side of Luomi Road, county road, north of Lanjia volcanic pass, and tens of meters above the stope. The observation platform is a two-story brick concrete structure, facing north from south, facing mountains and gullies, with a wide view from east to west and North, overlooking Panzhihua Iron Mine, urban area and mountains. The ground floor used to be the dispatching room of Lanjian Iron Mine, and the upper floor was the reception room and the ring Gallery viewing platform. The reception room covers an area of nearly 100 square meters and can accommodate 60 people. The sand table model of the mine is set in the room, and the circular corridor is a semi oval shape, which surrounds the Northeast two sides of the reception room. On September 30, 2015, a landslide occurred at the Lanjia volcano pass under the observation platform, and two-story buildings slipped into the stope, leaving only the open space in front of the building. After the event, the viewing platform area was blocked and no access was allowed.
