In 1993, Liaocheng municipal government decided to set up "Fu Sinian exhibition hall". In 1994, vice chairman Cheng Siyuan specially sent an inscription for Fu Sinian exhibition hall: "Fu Gong is a model for future generations with high integrity.". Ji Xianlin inscribed a plaque for Fu Sinian exhibition hall.

brief introduction

Fu Sinian (1896-1950), named Mengzhen, was born in Liaocheng. He was the seventh grandson of Fu Yijian, the founder of the Qing Dynasty. He was a famous historian in modern Chinese history. He graduated from the Chinese Department of Peking University in 1919. At the end of the year, he went to study in Britain at public expense. He studied history, mathematics and experimental psychology at the University of London, and then philosophy and history at the University of Berlin in Germany. He used to be professor of Sun Yat sen University, director of the Department of Chinese and history, acting Dean of the College of liberal arts, director of the Institute of history and language of Academia Sinica, acting president of Peking University and President of Taiwan University. Mr. Fu Sinian is well versed in Chinese and Western learning, has profound knowledge of history, archaeology, linguistics and pedagogy, and has made great contributions. He is known as a "generalist" in the academic circle. Mr. Fu Sinian worked hard for the peace talks between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. In April 1945, Chairman Mao's proposal of uniting representatives of all parties and non parties to form a coalition government was supported and responded by Democrats. In July of the same year, Fu Sinian, Chu Fucheng, Huang Yanpei and other six people came to Yan'an as Democrats to have talks with Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Wang Ruofei and other CPC leaders. Whether as a scholar or as a social activist, Mr. Fu Sinian occupies an important position in modern Chinese history. In January 1950, Mr. Fu Sinian became president of Taiwan University. On December 20, he died of cerebral hemorrhage in Taiwan at the age of 55.
