Rock Island

Rock Island refers to the isolated island surrounded by water due to the crustal movement, the difference of rock properties and the erosion of flowing water. It is often seen in the middle and upper reaches of rivers, facing the water, the mainstay of majestic momentum.

Changmenyan Island

Changmenyan island is located in the depth of the Yellow Sea, with an area of only 0.16 square kilometers. It is a "four no island" without fresh water, residents, flights and electricity. There are 495 winter resistant trees on the island, which are 200 to 830 years old. They are evergreen all the year round and bloom in winter and summer. When the flowers bloom, the island is red and enchanting. Changmenyan was named "the island of enduring winter".

Zhelangyan Island, Shanwei

Zhelangyan Island, also known as lighthouse Island, is located at the southeast end of ZHELANG peninsula. It is 490 meters long from east to west and 280 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of 0.133 square kilometers. It is only 11 nautical miles away from the international waterway. It is the dividing point between red bay and Jieshi Bay. It is a strip of water from Nan'ao Peninsula, separated by a strait only 0.16 km wide. It is known as "East Guangdong Qilin corner". Zhelangyan island is the hub of international waterway. It is the throat of waterway transportation from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Xiamen, Shantou and other countries and regions to Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Southeast Asia. The beacon lighthouse built in the 1980s is as high as 100 meters, which has become a spectacular tourist landscape. The scene on the east side of the rocky island is quite different from that on the west side. In the east side, the waves are rolling and roaring like ten thousand horses; in the west side, the waves are calm and calm, like the lake and the moon. The sunrise of Yandao is a great sight, attracting many tourists every year.

Folklore

Folklore has it that once upon a time, goddess Guanyin of the South China Sea traveled here. Attracted by the wonders of the sea, she stopped at Yandao. In order to test her heart, she turned into an old woman begging for fish from a fishing boat on the east side of the island. Instead of giving, the fisherman ridiculed her and made the waves rough. She turned to the fishing boat on the west side of the island and begged for fish. Although the fisherman only caught a few fish, he presented them with baskets. She made the waves calm. In fact, the bird West is very close to the Nan'ao Peninsula, and the half bird is like a barrier to block the wind and waves. This moving legend gives a magical color to the wonders of Yandao.

About history

On the island, there are traces of "Houjiang Pingshui" and "zhengzuxi Temple". In the seventh year of Shunzhi (1650), Zheng Chenggong sent troops to serve the king in Fujian Province and rushed to humen. When the ship arrived at Baisha lake, it encountered a big storm. After the storm, it met Qingbing in Daxing and won a great victory. Just as he was about to take advantage of the victory, the news of Xiamen's loss suddenly came, which made the army confused. The generals asked to return to the division for rescue, and the cry was loud. Zheng Chenggong had no choice but to return to the rescue. At that time, Zheng Chenggong's younger sister, Zheng Zuxi, was overthrown by the storm. Zheng Chenggong buried her younger sister in Houjiang by Baisha lake, and wrote the word "Houjiang Pingshui". He wanted her younger sister Yingling to make the sea calm like a mirror in Houjiang, and then led the division forward. Although the tomb has not been found yet, it has been handed down through the ages, and the "Zheng Zuxi Temple" was built in the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty as a memorial. During the cultural revolution, the temple was demolished, as well as monuments and wooden carvings of Zheng Zuxi. The temple has been rebuilt. On the Nan'ao Peninsula, which is only tens of kilometers away from Yandao, there is an ancient Xu fort, which was built by Lin Zexu.
