Former site of Lu art in Yan'an

Luyi site is located in qiaoergou, 5km northeast of Yan'an City. Now there is a Catholic Church and dozens of stone cave. It is one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units promulgated by the State Council in 1961. In February 1938, Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Lin Boqu, Xu Teli, Cheng Fangwu, Ai Siqi and Zhou Yang jointly published the origin of the founding, pointing out that "art, drama, music, fine arts and literature are the most powerful weapons for publicizing, agitating and organizing the masses; art workers are indispensable to the current anti Japanese war. Therefore, the cultivation of art cadres in the war of resistance against Japan can not be delayed at present. " In memory of the late literary magnate, Lu Xun Academy of art was named and its founding ceremony was held in the central auditorium on April 10. It was renamed "Lu Xun Art College" in 1940 and merged into Yan'an University in April 1943 as the school of literature and art of Yan'an University. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, Luyi moved to the northeast. During the Yan'an period, Zhao Yimin, Sha Kefu, Wu Yuzhang and Zhou Yang successively served as the principal and vice presidents. "Luyi" school building is a church built by a Spanish priest in qiaoergou and some caves around it. It was also the only authentic western style building in Yan'an at that time. Luyi is the first comprehensive art school founded by the Communist Party of China. In 1940, Mao Zedong wrote the school motto: "nervous, serious, hardworking and modest". From March 1938 to November 1945, he moved to Northeast China. He opened four departments of literature, five departments of drama, music and fine arts, and trained 685 students, including 197 in literature department, 179 in drama department, 192 in music department and 147 in fine arts department. Later famous writers and artists such as Zheng Lucheng, Liu Chi, moye, Wang Kun, Cheng Yin, Luo Gongliu, Zhong Dian, Li Bo, he Jingzhi, Shi Le, Yu Lan, Qin Zhaoyang, Huang Gang and Kang Zhuo were all students of Lu art. For a time, in this small hill of the Loess Plateau in Northwest China, a group of talented people gathered and literary stars gathered together, marking a brilliant light in the history of Chinese literature and art. "Lu art" played a great role in the revolutionary history and had a far-reaching impact on Modern Chinese culture and art. It is known as the "Temple of new literature and art" and attracted the attention of tourists.
