Million Sunflower Garden is the first one in China to design a super large theme garden with sunflower as an ornamental plant. The million Sunflower Garden was built and opened to the public in April 2002. It is located in Xinken Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou City, covering an area of 260000 square meters and planting one million sunflowers. It has become the first Ornamental Sunflower Garden in China that uses all imported seeds (mainly from Japan). Among them, besides the million Sunflower Garden, the first squirrel paradise with more than 1000 squirrels in China has been built, as well as the ant kingdom and dove square.

In February 2020, in order to pay homage to the majority of medical workers, the scenic spot will be opened to medical workers after the end of the epidemic and the resumption of operation.

Climatic characteristics

Million Sunflower Garden for subtropical marine monsoon climate, wind direction is very seasonal. Sunflowers bloom all year round. 18 Ornamental Sunflower Varieties from Europe and Japan were introduced into Sunflower Garden, and a number of varieties suitable for subtropical planting and growth were selected and cultivated. Through gene introduction, sunflowers with special colors such as red and purple and strong fragrance were cultivated. After scientific planning and planting, 200000 sunflowers were kept in full bloom every day.

Love in Eden

Row after row of arched Roman column flower bars are made of white stone of Han Dynasty, and arc-shaped around lavender flower sea.
