Zhangjia courtyard

Zhangjia courtyard was built in 1830 (the 10th year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty). The former head of household, Juxing hall, Zhang family, was invited from Beijing for its design and construction. It is divided into four quadrangles. The west two courtyard are Qing style wooden frame hard mountain buildings, the east two courtyard are European style buildings, and the middle one has a hall and four rooms. The four small courtyards have small doors and cloisters. Part of the courtyard remained as it was, and part of the cloisters were demolished and rebuilt, but the wooden frames were not moved, and the original appearance was restored after overhaul. Now it is a cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.

Zhangjia courtyard

Located in group 7, Youai village, Jiajia Town, Baihe County, Zhangjia courtyard, an ancient residence in Baihe County, is divided into upper courtyard and lower courtyard, about 300 meters apart. Both of them were built in the middle of Qing Dynasty. They are located in the northeast and southwest, on the Bank of Jieling River, opposite to Hanbai highway.

The lower courtyard covers an area of about 3000 square meters. It consists of two buildings with one entrance and three courtyards. The distance between the two walls is more than 80 minutes, forming a body shaped whole. The central axis from west to East is divided into gate, vestibule, middle hall, back room, corridor and two patios, with wing rooms on both sides. The main building is of brick and wood structure, with hard mountain gray tile roof and beam lifting frame. There are two wind sealing walls in the west to five rooms of the house. The fire sealing walls are full of wood and the cornices are mainly made of dragons and phoenixes. It is simple, unique and lifelike. Under the eaves are painted with ink, the corridors, railings and window lattice are all carved, the gate is carved with stone, and the forehead is inscribed with the four characters "Zhen Fu Gu Jia". The gate is 3 meters high on both sides. On the 64 meter stone gate wall, 30 character couplets are carved on the left, such as "green poplar on both sides of the Strait, a bay of grass, that is, the victory of Jiangling", and on the right, "where to visit the famous family of Keli" and so on. The architectural style of a building in the south is roughly the same as that in the north. From west to East, the central axis is divided into the gate, the front hall, the patio, the atrium and the back hall of the patio. The wing rooms on both sides of the front hall are round door openings made of bluestone, and the door couplets and window lattice are carved. The gate forehead is "Shu De Wu Zi", the stone gate forehead in the atrium is "filial family", and the water and ink are painted under the eaves.
