Baozuo battle site

When you look at the quiet woods and isolated villages around you, it's hard to imagine that such a peaceful place once had a fierce battle. On August 29, 1935, the red 30th army and the front army of the red 4th Army had a fierce battle with the Kuomintang army here. Today, you can still see the bunker built by the Kuomintang army, the former battlefield and the Dajie temple, the headquarters of the Kuomintang army. It's also suitable for those who have historical knowledge and hope to visit the Red Army on a pilgrimage or charter a car from Songpan to Zoige.

Baozuo battle site is located at the junction of Qiuji Township and baozuo Township in Ruoergai County. It is 10 km long from north to South and 6 km wide from east to west. The site is divided into upper and lower baozuo, mostly high slopes and forest areas. There are existing bunkers and battlefields built by the Kuomintang army and Dajie temple, the headquarters of the Kuomintang army.

On August 29, 1935, the red 30th army and the red 4th army launched the baozuo campaign. After a day and a night of heroic fighting, they annihilated more than 4000 enemies, captured more than 800 enemies, seized a large number of guns, ammunition and materials, and won a major victory. They opened the channel to the north and realized the plan of the Red Army going north out of Sichuan to establish the Sichuan Shaanxi Gansu base.
