Wenanwa
Wen'an depression is located in the center of Beijing, Tianjin, Baoding, Cangzhou and Langfang. The broad and clear Haihe River is like a jade belt around the northern part of the county. In rainy season, there are white sails on the river and misty willows on both sides. Downstream, it can reach Tianjin and upstream, connecting with Baiyangdian. Wenan East, low-lying, known as Dongdian, is one of the eight low-lying lakes in Hebei Province.

Three treasures of wenanwa
People who are older all know the saying, "wen'anwa, sanzongbao, dili'er, Zha, Sansheng, sanlengcao". These three treasures once helped the poor people of wen'anwa and even more than ten surrounding counties through the most difficult years. The old generation of Wen'an people have deep feelings for them. They often remember that in the 28th year of the Republic of China, the Japanese devils dug up the dyke of the Daqinghe River to release water, in order to drown and trap the newly established Anti Japanese forces; in 1942, the Japanese devils confiscated rice and wanted to use the hard work of the Wen'an people for military provisions. It is their criminal acts that have pushed the people of wen'anwa to the brink of death. Wen'anwa people want to eat or wear. They go to Wali in groups to get pears and pickles in the water. Relying on the gift of nature, they get through difficulties and survive tenaciously.
The first treasure of pear
I don't have any available information about which family and order Dili belongs to in Botany, but in terms of shape and living habits, it should be closely related to chufa. Pears are round, black skin, white meat, globular top with a pinch of hair, so there is a folk saying: pears with a pinch of hair, not good to eat. Dili'er is actually a kind of underground stem called "Sparganium", which is rich in starch and sugar. The top tuft of hair is actually the bud of underground corm. Because wenanwa is flooded all year round, there are thick Sparganium growing everywhere, and many pears are buried in the soil under the Sparganium. It has become a special kind of labor for the poor. In shallow water, first use the soil to make a square pool, and then dig up the soil in the pool. When you walk around with water, the pears will float; if you are in dry land, use a tool called the pears scratch. This kind of tool is one foot long, with a handle bent on the head, which is similar to a small hoe. It scrapes the pears out one by one in the soil layer by layer. Pears can be eaten raw or cooked, but most of them are dried in the sun, ground into powder, pasted cakes and steamed buns.
Second treasure mustard
Mustard tuber is not Sichuan mustard tuber. It's a kind of water plant here. I can't find out its scientific name. There are many kinds of mustard tuber, among which the growth area is the widest and the propagation speed is the fastest. The most common ones are willow leaf pressing and wool pressing. The willow leaf press can be eaten. When the age is not good, people take it up, dry it in the sun, chop it up, mix it with some bran or stick flour, and steam it to eat. However, this food is not delicious, a fishy smell, so the willow leaf press is more used to make feed for pigs. Another kind of wool press can't be eaten, but some people raise goldfish. They pick one or two goldfish and put them in the fish tank as ornaments. It's clear and green, which is really beautiful.
The third treasure of Sparganium
As mentioned above, Dili is actually a kind of plant with Sparganium. Every spring, the pear in the water will arch out small buds, in the summer, the small buds grow up, to the most prosperous period, no matter how deep the water is, it must be higher than the water surface, some can be higher than two meters. In autumn, the Sparganium withers and turns yellow slowly, and the top bears seeds. The Sparganium shaped stem, with a silk nest shape inside, is pulled out and dried, which is very soft. It is said that Emperor Qianlong visited wen'anwa when he happened to meet a man who pulled out the Sparganium. He only heard the sound of "zhi'er" and pulled it down. Emperor Qianlong had a plan in mind. He wanted to test Ji Xiaolan around him, so he asked, "Ji Aiqing, how do you write this" zhier " Ji Xiaolan thought a little and said: "a handle, a cursive head, a water character below." "What do you say?" "Take the grass in the water with your hand and pull it out hard. Then you can hear" zhi'er. " Emperor Qianlong laughed on the spot, boasting that Ji Xiaolan was extremely clever. From then on, a new Chinese character came into being. It's a pity that I don't have this word in my computer font, so I just have to talk about it.
Sparganium is widely used. In the summer evening, the old people enjoy the cool under the big trees. What they sit on is a mat made of Sparganium, and what they shake is a fan made of Sparganium. In winter, people wear sandals made of Sparganium, which are different from those in the south. The sandals in the south are more like sandals, while the sandals in wen'anwa are like cotton padded shoes, which are warmer than cotton padded shoes. Sparganium can also be used to weave mats, hats and various small handicrafts It's very useful.
Nowadays, wenanwa has no water, and few young people remember these three treasures. However, in the dry Dawa, there are still many dili'er buried deep, and they are still tenaciously alive. It is said that dili'er has a strong vitality. When it used to live in the water, it would stop and hide in the ground in the face of drought. For ten years, eight years, decades, hundreds of years, without suitable living conditions, it would remain silent. Once it had water, it would burst out a thriving opportunity and give the earth a piece of green.
