--Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum was founded in 1953. Its rich collection makes it very influential, and its exhibits are very characteristic of Xinjiang.
--The museum displays the history of Xinjiang and the folk customs of various nationalities, as well as the famous "Loulan beauty" ancient corpse, "five stars out of the East" Han Dynasty brocade and other national treasures.
--The museum is a modern three storey building. The Xinjiang ethnic customs exhibition hall is on the first floor. It introduces the folk customs of 12 major ethnic groups in Xinjiang, including Uygur, Kazakh, Mongolian and Xibe.
The exhibition of mummy on the two floor and the exhibition of "always with the motherland" are the essence exhibitions in the museum. The rare collections mentioned above are located on this floor.
--Free explanation is provided in the museum, four times a day. For details, please refer to the time arrangement in the museum. The deposit of free explanation device is 100 yuan. Meanwhile, photos can be taken in the museum, but in order to protect cultural relics, please turn off the flash consciously.
Museum of the Uygur Autonomous Region
The Museum of the Uygur Autonomous Region, located at 581 Northwest Road, was established in August 1959. The new museum of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was opened on September 20, 2005. There are four permanent exhibitions, including "retrieving the glory of the western regions yesterday - Exhibition of historical relics in Xinjiang", "exhibition of ethnic customs in Xinjiang", "exhibition of ancient corpses in Xinjiang" and "historical monument - Exhibition of revolutionary historical materials in Xinjiang". There are 37 kinds of cultural relics and specimens, Among them, 381 are state-level cultural relics. In May 2008, the Museum of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was awarded the first batch of national first-class museums.
Collection
Up to now, the museum has a collection of more than 50000 pieces, among which the historical and folk cultural relics are the most distinctive. The museum has also published many books, such as unearthed cultural relics in Xinjiang and the silk road.

At present, Xinjiang Museum has five basic displays
(1) "The display of ancient historical relics in Xinjiang" reflects the general picture and rich connotation of Xinjiang's historical development, and at the same time, it shows Xinjiang's national characteristics, local characteristics and "Silk Road". The cultural relics on display include intact pottery, exquisite jade, lifelike clay figurines, colorful fabrics, rare bamboo slips, a wide range of stone tools, bronzes, irons, and more than 1000 auxiliary exhibits, which fully reflect the process of Xinjiang's various historical periods and development periods.
(2) "Xinjiang ethnic folk custom Exhibition" vividly shows the folk customs of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang through the architectural art, production tools, clothing, life and cultural supplies of 12 ethnic groups living in Xinjiang.
(3) "Display of ancient corpses in Xinjiang", There are 21 ancient corpses on display, including the best preserved and most complete "Loulan beauty" 4000 years ago, the female corpse 3200 years ago in Hami with Europa characteristics, the tall and healthy male corpse of Qiemo, the female corpse of Qiemo dressed in gorgeous costumes, the rare infant corpse of Qiemo in the world, the mummy of Su Beixi 2500 years ago, and the mummy of Zhang Xiong, the Zuowei General of Tang Gaochang. At the same time, the representative ancient tombs in Xinjiang were restored and exhibited.
(4) The exhibition of historical materials of revolutionary cultural relics in Xinjiang shows the heroic deeds of the revolutionaries who died bravely for the peaceful liberation of Xinjiang.
(5) "Saving the national treasure of Chinese ancient machinery" exhibition shows large-scale ancient travel machinery models such as Luban wooden chariots and horses and Zhuge Liang wooden cattle and horses more than 1000 years ago, which fully reflects the wisdom and superb wisdom of the Chinese nation.
