Litchi village is a place in Hong Kong. It is located in the north of Sai Kung Peninsula in the new territories. It is a village on the South Bank of Chi men Strait. On the bank to the west of lizhizhuang wharf, there are many layers of sedimentary rocks, which are the focus of geological investigation.
This 5-hectare black rock beach, located in the western suburb park of Sai Kung, was listed as a site of special scientific value in 1985. These sedimentary rocks are "younger" than that of Ma Shi Chau, but "older" than that of Tung Ping Chau. When the volcano erupted about 100 million years ago, a large amount of volcanic ash and debris accumulated into tuff. During the period when the volcano stopped erupting intermittently, silica in the sky accumulated and precipitated through rainfall, and deposited into a layer in the water, forming a black chert layer. These distinctive colored rocks and lighter volcanic siltstone alternate to form deep light volcanic sedimentary rocks with strong contrast. During the intermission, the environment changes greatly, and the thickness of black rock varies greatly, ranging from 10 cm to nearly 100 cm, forming a steep slope on the bank. It is said that because the flint is very hard, human beings knew how to use it to make fire in ancient times.
It will be against the laws of Hong Kong for tourists to dig, dig or collect rocks.
