Lingjiao Lake Park

Before the 1980s, it was named "water chestnut lake" because of its abundant water chestnut. Local villagers made a living by fishing and the water quality was clear. Because Lingjiao lake is not connected with the Yangtze River, Han River and other water bodies, the water from the lake is supplied by rainwater, surrounding lakes and other water systems.

Introduction to scenic spots

Lingjiao lake is located in the central urban area of Hankou, Wuhan, connecting Xinhua Road and tangjiadun road in the west, Wuda printing factory and residential area in the north, Wuhan Book World (Huangling Road) in the south, and Xinhua Hospital in Hubei Province in the East. In the 1990s, with the urban development, some enterprises, institutions and residents built a large number of buildings along the lake, which basically cut off all the natural water from Lingjiao lake. Lingjiao Lake lost its self purification ability, and the water quality deteriorated year by year. In 2007, the water quality of Lingjiao lake was found to be inferior to five categories. In 2008, the municipal government put forward the "one lake, one landscape" project, which included Lingjiao lake into the scope of treatment. After treatment, the water quality of that year was upgraded to category 5.
