Dalian museum is located at No.10, Huizhan Road, Shahekou District, Dalian City, northwest of Xinghai Square. It is the first comprehensive museum named "modern" in China. It started construction in November 1999, opened to the public in March 2002, and was officially awarded the third batch of national first-class museums in May 2017.

The main building has four floors above the ground and one floor underground, with a construction area of 30400 square meters and a display area of 15000 square meters. It is now a "national first-class Museum"

Development history

In November 1999, the construction of Dalian modern museum started.

In March 2002, Dalian modern museum opened to the public.

In 2007, Dalian municipal government decided to renovate the modern museum.

On April 28, 2013, the exhibition of modern Dalian, a basic display, was opened to the public.

On May 18, 2017, with the arrival of the 41st Museum Day, Dalian modern museum was officially awarded the third batch of national first-class museums in the "May 18 International Museum Day" in Beijing.

Venue composition

The basic display of Dalian modern museum is "modern Dalian", with an area of more than 3000 square meters and a tour route of 500 meters.

The whole exhibition takes the modern Dalian history from 1840 to 1949 as the theme, and its contents are divided into "the development of LvDa and the coastal defense construction", "LvDa in the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895", "Russian leased LvDa and the formation of port city", "Russo Japanese War and Japanese Colonial rule", "the exchange and integration of multi cultures", "the resistance and struggle of modern Dalian people" and "the liberation and development of Dalian" More than 1300 cultural relics and 800 historical photos and charts were displayed in the seven units of "the establishment of the people's political power". Modern Dalian is a comprehensive display of the city's 100 year history and a window for audiences at home and abroad to understand the history and culture of modern Dalian.

In addition to the basic exhibition, the museum also has a number of special exhibition halls and temporary exhibition halls on the first and fourth floors, which are used to undertake various scale exhibitions of cultural relics and art treasures at home and abroad. Since 2007, the museum has successively held "treasures of the Qing palace", "eternal Chang'an", "grand wind of Jin State", "ancient charm of peninsula", "grand world", "Dalian itinerant exhibition of national major historical art works", "Silk Road", "famous guns", "east wind spreading to the west", "brilliant scenery", "civilization of Central Plains, Shang and Zhou Dynasties", "long journey to the west", etc There are many large-scale exhibitions, such as contemporary realistic oil painting in the United States, Khitan style, painting as a whole, Three Gorges musical rhyme, wonderful scene Sanskrit sound, etc. At the same time, the museum also held art exhibitions in Japan, the United States, Russia, Croatia, Belgium and other countries.

On August 26, 2011, the activity of "teenagers experience folk art in the museum" was held.

In October 2010, the whole library, with departments as the unit, logged on the websites such as "China civilization net" to participate in online signature activities, and delivered speeches on intercommunication civilization and politeness.

Organization setup

Office: upload, issue and coordinate the implementation of the administrative, business and party work decisions of the whole library; manage the voucher, seal, labor and personnel and document files of the legal person organization; be responsible for the work attendance, performance salary accounting and welfare matters of the whole staff; manage and develop the cultural industry.

Exhibition research department: responsible for basic exhibition content planning, exhibition outline preparation and formulation of technical requirements for form design; organizing exchange exhibitions and formulating the implementation of large-scale theme activities; carrying out professional academic research and participating in academic exchanges at home and abroad; undertaking shooting, sorting and archiving of large-scale activities and important reception image data; managing internal LAN and museum website.

Collection technology department: responsible for the collection of cultural relics and data sorting, classification and grading, registration, cataloguing and filing, and database management; daily storage and scientific protection of collection data; carry out research on cultural relics and collection protection related disciplines; collect all kinds of Chinese and foreign art works with historical and artistic value; supervise the scientific protection of exhibits; assume the responsibility of safety and fire protection of the Department Do other work related to the Department and finish all temporary tasks assigned by the library leaders on time.

Social education service department: daily opening reception of audience consultation, exhibition explanation service and ticket sales; organization of theme education activities, public lectures, mobile exhibitions and services for minors; preparation of exhibition commentaries, popular science materials and publicity reports related to museum activities; daily opening management of "education experience hall".

Financial Assets Department: responsible for the financial plan, budget and final accounts report and quarterly analysis report of the whole library; manage various financial accounts, bills, project contracts and asset general ledger files; manage and undertake various funds of the whole library and staff social insurance funds; participate in the bidding of various government procurement projects, and review the budget and final accounts of various infrastructure projects.

Property management department: manage and maintain the infrastructure and special equipment of the whole library to ensure the safe operation of water, electricity, steam, air conditioning, elevator and weak current systems; supervise various infrastructure maintenance projects; submit for approval of property insurance claims and supervise the performance of contracts by relevant departments; be responsible for environmental greening, sanitation, epidemic prevention and cleaning of the whole library; manage staff canteens.

Security department: responsible for the fire safety of the whole library. Drafting, supervising and implementing the post safety responsibility system of all levels and departments. To manage the maintenance and update of the fire safety system and related equipment; to manage the fire safety alarm monitoring center and duty room, and to implement 24-hour monitoring of the defense area of the whole library; to organize regular fire safety drills combined with emergency plans; to be responsible for the registration and management of foreign construction personnel and all kinds of temporary personnel; to organize legal education and comprehensive management and inspection of social security.

From April 1 to October 31 every year: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (stop entering at 4:00 p.m.)

From November 1 to March 31 of the next year: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (stop entering at 3:30 p.m.)
