Zhaga waterfall

Zhaga waterfall is a stepped cascade. The river bed of the whole waterfall is tufa body. It is the largest drop calcified waterfall found in China, and has the reputation of "the first calcified waterfall in China".

The upstream of the waterfall is a lake, and the downstream is a stepped river bed. The water of the lake falls rapidly from the huge calcified terraces, and then falls down through three travertine steps. It is magnificent and the waves are ten li.

Zhaga waterfall

Zaga waterfall, 40 kilometers away from Songpan County, is located in housigou, Sanlian Village, Muni scenic area.

Zhaga, in Tibetan, means torrent on Baiyan. Zhaga waterfall is one of the two major landscapes in Munigou scenic area.

According to geologists' appraisal, zhaga waterfall is both a liquid waterfall and a solid waterfall. The so-called solid waterfall refers to the fact that the river bed of the whole waterfall surface is a tufa body, and the tufa flow is like a colorful liquid flying down.

The water on the tufa is clear and bright. The waterfall is the largest travertine waterfall found in China, with the reputation of "the first waterfall in China".

Folklore: the original flow of water in Munigou was muddy and could not be drunk. At that time, the plague was prevalent and dead bodies were everywhere. There was a young man named zhaga. In order to save the people and find the source of clean water, he raised a hoe and worked hard to smash the sky. The flood came down and washed away the filth. The people were bathed and drank heavily, and then they were promoted.

When the Bodhisattva was angry, he sent heavenly soldiers to catch zhaga and press him at the foot of Baiyan mountain. Zhaga opened its mouth to spit out water to save the people. As a result, thousands of trees were lush, and the clean flow flowed into the primitive forest area. From the Huanglong housigoukou, there was zhaga gorge. At the end of the gorge, there was zhaga waterfall, known as the first travertine waterfall in China.

Scenic spot tour

The valley of zhaga Waterfall Scenic Spot is 5 kilometers long. There is a flat mountain road from the entrance to the camp. The slope is on the left side of the mountain road, and the deep ditch is on the right side. There are towering ancient trees on the right side.

About half an hour later, after a mountain road, you will arrive at the starting point of the waterfall scenic spot at the bottom of the valley.

From the bottom of the valley to the top of the waterfall, the total length is about 2300 meters. The waterfall poured down from the top, forming a number of flying streams. There is a zigzag plank road on the right side of the slope, which is convenient for tourists.

Walking up the plank road from the bottom of the valley, the first scenic spot is Hongliu lake. Here is a shallow lake with open water surface, and the water is full of red willows.

From wolongtan, toad palace and lvliutan to 1450 meters away, you can see a group of small waterfalls with unique style - the cascade in the forest. You can continue to go up the plank road, pass jiuliuchi and Yuye waterfall, and then you can reach the jade splashing platform at the bottom of zhaga waterfall.

Splashing jade platform is a round flat stone platform. When the waterfall falls down from the top of the mountain, it falls on this platform and the spray splashes like white jade. After a steep plank road, you can visit the viewing platform in the middle of the waterfall.

Looking down from here is the jade splashing platform. Leaving the viewing platform, the plank road began to steep. After a section of crazy waterfall, you can reach the source of Zaga waterfall.
