Houhai Village

Sanya Houhai, a magical place, is the place where CCTV filmed the first ray of sunshine in 2000.

Sanya Houhai village, also known as tenghai fishing village, is characterized by leisurely fishing village atmosphere, distinctive fishermen's life and authentic seafood ingredients. Houhai and Wuzhizhou Island, which are located in the same sea area in the north, are shining in the distance. The wharf of Wuzhizhou island is here. There are white lighthouses at the entrance of the Bay, and all kinds of ships will stay here. Every morning, from the beach, there is a peaceful scenery. What's more, there are also some scenery that can't be seen in Sanya Bay, Dadonghai Bay and Yalong Bay - sunrise at sea.

Houhai Village

Houhai village is located in Baiqi Hui Township, Hui'an County, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. Because Zheng He helped to build and reclaim land from the sea during his five voyages to the west, it was gradually transformed into a village, which is called Houhai village according to the geographical situation. The area is 1.4 square kilometers and the population is 1757.

Meaning of place names

Before the 15th year of Yongle (1417), it was a vast ocean. Because it was behind Baiqi, it was called neihouhai. Zheng He helped jianti reclaim land from the sea when he went to the West. After gradual transformation, he formed a village, which was called Houhai according to the geographical situation.

Historical evolution

Qing Dynasty belongs to 22 capital baiqipu. The Republic of China belongs to Hougang village. From the winter solstice of 1949 to 1955, it belongs to Lichun township of five districts and seven districts (Dongyuan). In 1956, it became Liyang township of Dongyuan district. Since 1958, it has successively belonged to upstream commune and Dongyuan commune, and set up Houhai brigade. In 1985, it was established as Houhai village committee of Dongyuan town. Baiqi Hui nationality township was established in 1990. Houhai village committee belongs to it.

Traffic location

Houhai village is located in the east of Baiqi Township, bordering Dongyuan and zhangban in the East, Lichun village in the west, Yingge mountain in the South and Baiqi Lake in the north. The highway runs through Quanzhou City in the South and Huian Chengguan in the north, with convenient transportation.
