Yanqing temple is at the foot of Hutou mountain, longtan'ao village, an ancient city street near the sea. Founded in the first year of Liang Tianjian (502) in the Southern Dynasty, it was formerly known as longshanyuan. In the fifth year of Huichang (845) of Tang Dynasty, it was abolished because of the "destruction of Buddha movement", and rebuilt in the middle and large years (847-859). After five dynasties, Liang Kaiping (907-910) was changed into Longtan courtyard. King Qian Zhongyi of the state of Wu and Yue bestowed "Xilong Temple" as a gift. The name was changed from 1008 to 1016. In the 18th year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty (1482), the abbot of Daogong in "dugang". Qing Kangxi 12 years (1673) because of bandits and abandoned, 15 years (1767) monks and good friends reconstruction. Then it was abandoned. In the middle of the Republic of China (1911-1949), the eminent monk Xingci of Tiantai Sect was rebuilt. Today, the temple is composed of Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall and Liangxiang. It is a place for Buddhist activities in Linhai City.
