Zhenjiang Temple

Zhenjiang temple is located 15 kilometers west of Huilai County, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, beside the East dike of Longxi in Weishan, Longjiang Town. It was founded in the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty (1506-1521).

brief introduction

The temple has been newly built and inscribed by president Zhao Puchu. On January 10, 1989, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit of the county. In June 1991, it was restored to Kaiguang. On October 1, 1995, it was approved for registration and opening. It is a scenic spot in Huilai.

history

When the temple was founded, it belonged to longxidu of Chaoyang County. In winter and October of the third year of Jiajing (1524), Huilai set up the county, so it belonged to Huilai. In the 13th year of Jiaqing (1808) and the 30th year of Daoguang (1850), Kong Meixiang donated money for the construction. In the 19th year of Guangxu (1893), the mountain gate was rebuilt, and the stone plaque "Zhenjiang Temple" was carved with the financial support of Wei Afu of Chaoyi.

In 1945, when the Japanese looted Longxi, they destroyed the cultural relics in the temple. In 1948, the armed forces took it as a stronghold to fight against the enemy. After 1950, the pavilion in front of the temple was demolished because of the arrangement of Longxi River and the widening of the river bank. In 1952, Shi kuanjian, the abbot of Lingshan temple in Chaoyang County, came here to preach when he was walking in Yanchan Temple of Baihua villa in Huilai County.

In 1981, the religious policy was implemented and Shi Hongjiang, Hongyuan and Chuanxing returned to the temple for management. But the wood decayed, the wall fell, and the shell leaves withered. It was prepared by kuihai (1983) and restored by Yichu (1985) in Wuchen (1988). In June 1991, Shi Dingzhi (1921-1999), the head of Shantou Buddhist Association, was invited to open the temple.

present situation

Zhenjiang temple sits in the north to the south, and there is a new Dafeng ancestral temple near the East. The temple covers an area of more than 1200 square meters, including more than 600 square meters of buildings, two into the double box, glazed tile top, elegant and brilliant, chime melodious. The temple is located in the front of the river and the back of the river. It looks to the north of the sea and is surrounded by mountains and water. In front of the temple, there are three banyan boats, floating boats and floating bridges.
