Zhao Guyuan

Zhaoguyuan is located in the east foot of Zhaogu mountain, Beigu village, Jingjing County, beside cangyan mountain tourism road. It is the place where Cheng Ying, a friend of Zhao Dun, the Prime Minister of Jin, collected the orphans of Zhao family in the spring and Autumn period. According to the records of Zhao family in historical records: in 597 BC, tu'anjia, a powerful official of Jin Dynasty, killed Zhao Dunzi and Zhao Shuo's family, and searched for Zhao Wu, a baby. Cheng Ying and Zhao Shuo's guest, Gongsun Chujiu, decided to change the baby. Chujiu died, and Cheng Ying held Zhao Wu in the mountains for 15 years. It is said that Cheng Ying took Zhao Wu to hide in the cave during the day and stay in the ancient temple at night. Under the cover and help of local Baitou, he survived more than ten years. Hence the name of gutai. Zhao Gushan (also known as Gushan) and Zhao Guyuan are named after them.

Introduction

The whole zhaoguyuan scenic area covers an area of 380000 square meters. It is a collection of natural scenery, cultural landscape and historical legends with the theme of "Cheng Ying Canggu". There are more than 20 scenic spots in the park, including Canggu cave, bedroom ruins of Cheng Ying and Zhao Wu, Pangu cave, Xuanyuan cave, enlightenment garden, Cheng Ying temple, Canggu cave in the north and south, Wangdu niche, Qiongyao terrace, Jiugong array, and Song Dynasty Murals. There are also precious cultural relics such as stone mortar used by Cheng Ying to pound rice. Canggu temple and Chengying temple were built in the Western Zhou Dynasty and the spring and Autumn period respectively. All the pavilions and halls are set against the mountain, hidden in the green pines. Pangu cave and Xuanyuan cave are underground galleries with a total length of 215 meters. The walls are inlaid with Pangu, nine statues of three emperors and five emperors, and various murals. In front of Cheng Ying temple, there are 33 slate paintings about Zhao's orphans, which are based on historical records. They are exquisitely engraved with both pictures and texts.
