Longwan fort is located at the top of Longwan mountain, Longwan District, Wenzhou City. The terrain is very dangerous. The top of the mountain protrudes from the river and is close to the deep water. Since ancient times, there have been military facilities such as Longwan village flood control. In the early years of Guangxu, the Qing government built this fort to fight against the invasion of China's coastal areas by Britain, France and other countries, facing the "zhenza fort" on the Rocky Mountain of Yueqing across the river and guarding the gate of Dongou. The plane of the fort is oval, with a diameter of more than 40 meters from north to South and 60 meters from east to west. The wall is 3 meters high and 2 meters thick. It is solid with glutinous rice porridge mixed with loess and lime layer by layer. During the Anti Japanese War, the fort was seriously damaged by Japanese aircraft bombing, and now there are only walls, six blastholes, the gate and the blue stone plaque of "Longwan fort". It was partially restored in the 1980s.
