Dongting Street

Dongting street is a street in Jiang'an District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. It is 3.8km long from Jianghan Road in the southwest and Yiyuan road in the northeast, parallel to Yanjiang Avenue and Poyang Street on both sides. In the middle, it intersects Shanghai Road, Nanjing Road, Qingdao Road, Tianjin Road, Hezuo Road, Lanling Road, Lihuangpi Road, Dongting Road, Station Road, cai'e Road, etc.

Dongting street runs through the original British, Russian and French concession

Jianghan Road (formerly Xinsheng Road) to Hezuo Road (formerly jiejie Road) belong to Hankou British concession. The intersection roads are Yihe Street (Shanghai Road), Fuchang Street (Nanjing Road), Huachang Street (Qingdao Road) and Baoshun Street (Tianjin Road).

From Hezuo road to Lihuangpi Road (Yima Street), xiashou, originally belonging to the Russian concession in Hankou, was named EHA street. After it was recovered, it was renamed Liangyi street. In the middle, it meets lierbin Street (Lanling Road) and Kaitai Street (Sanjiao street and Poyang Street);

Then go down to Chezhan Road (klemansha street, former Prime Minister of Dafa, on the northwest side, and Bangke street and Wilson Road, on the southeast side) to form the boundary between the Russian concession and the French concession. The intersection road has consul Street (Dongting path).

From the intersection of railway station to Yiyuan Road (formerly known as Hao Street) belongs to Hankou French concession, formerly known as lvqinshi street. The intersection road is Fuxu Dajiangjun Street (cai'e Road).

On the new year's day of 1946, the national government took back all the concessions and named the above roads Dongting street.

Today, there are still many European style buildings left over from the concession era on both sides of Dongting street. In the former British concession, there are Industrial Bank of China (Jianghan crossing), British Mercantile Bank (Qingdao crossing), Pinghe Packing Factory (Qingdao crossing), Bao'an foreign bank (Qingdao crossing), etc. In the former Russian concession, there are Bagong house (Poyang street, Lihuangpi intersection), Xinyi Office (Lihuangpi intersection), Russian patrol house (Lihuangpi intersection), livanov mansion, Russian consul's residence, etc. In the original French concession, there are French Consulate, French Consulate's residence, British business Zanyu pharmacy (at the intersection of railway station), staff residence of British business welfare company, Lixing foreign company, etc.
