In memory of the revolutionary comrades who died bravely in the battle, all the officers and men of the 718 regiment set up a monument to the martyrs on the hillside of Mafang in the autumn of 1944. In March 1947, when Hu zongnan's army invaded Yan'an, the monument was damaged and the inscription was hard to recognize. The local people had to go through many difficulties to protect the monument. The front of the monument is basically intact, with the inscription "national hero forever" on the top and "memorial to Anti Japanese soldiers" in the middle, signed by General Wang Zhen, commander of 359 brigade. On the left and right sides of the monument are the names of the martyrs, with 14 lines on each side and 16 people on each line, a total of 448 people. The pedestal is a square stone with a height of 0.5 meters and a width of 0.9 meters on each side. On the back of the stele is an inscription.
