In the reign of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty, ertai was the chief executive of Yunnan, Guizhou and other places. Huang Shijie, the water conservancy officer of ertai, managed the Dianchi water system from 1729 to 1732. It includes the dredging and sluice control of the six rivers flowing into Dianchi Lake, and the sluice regulation of the newly opened discharge channel at the outlet of Dianchi Lake. Huang Shijie also wrote "the map of six rivers in Yunnan Province", which summarized the experience and lessons of harnessing Dianchi Lake water conservancy. Songhuaba water conservancy project experienced the management of yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and multi-level diversion culverts and irrigation and drainage canal systems were successively built along Panlong River and Jinzhi river. Songhuaba canal system and other rivers in Dianchi Lake system, such as Yinzhi, Baoxiang, Maliao and Haiyuan, become the water conservancy engineering system in Dianchi Lake area, which is collectively referred to as Kunming Liuhe water conservancy. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, dykes and gates were rebuilt to expand the irrigation area.
