Xing'an Scenic Area

Xing'an, located in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 60 kilometers north of Guilin City, is one of the components of the great Guilin Tourist Area. It has a subtropical monsoon climate with annual rainfall ranging from 1600 mm to 2200 mm and an average annual temperature of 17.8 ℃. Xing'an is dominated by hills and plains, with valleys and mountains. The terrain is relatively inclined from the Northwest Yuechengling mountains and the southwest Dupangling mountains, forming a long and narrow zone between the two mountains, which is called "Hunan Guangxi corridor". Maoer peak, the highest peak in the territory, is 2142 meters above sea level, the first peak in South China. Xing'an is rich in soil and products. It is the production base county of ginkgo, grain and bamboo, and one of the agricultural ecological counties in China. Xing'an is rich in tourism resources. It was approved as an open county by the State Council in 1982. In March 1987, Xing'an County Tourism Bureau was established. The main contents of Xing'an tourism are cultural relics and mountain scenery. At present, there are Maoershan scenic spot, Lingqu, Red Army stele garden scenic spot, Linghu leisure resort, Guyan pass, Qincheng ruins scenic spot and Wulixia scenic spot. There is also a famous Lingqu in Xing'an, Guangxi. Lingqu is located in Xing'an County, 66 kilometers north of Guilin. It is also called "Xianggui canal" because it is a waterway connecting Xiang River and Gui River. Today, the water of Lingqu is still clear, and most of the river sections are well preserved. Lingqu was opened 1500 years earlier than the Grand Canal. It is one of the most complete ancient water conservancy projects in the world. Together with Dujiangyan in Sichuan and zhengguoqu in Shaanxi, it is called the three major water conservancy projects of the Qin Dynasty. Mr. Guo Moruo, a famous contemporary scholar, called it "echo with the north and south of the Great Wall, and are the wonders of the world."
