Xilamulun

Xilamulun Grand Canyon, which geologists call Xilamulun deep fault, is located in the southern margin of Daxinganling Mountains. It extends nearly East-West along Xilamulun River, 340 km long and 50 km wide. It is one of the most important deep faults in this area. The sandy land and sparse forest landscape in the scenic area is unique, and the "African Grassland" landscape features are obvious, and various landscapes are everywhere. The Xilamulun Grand Canyon has high mountains and deep valleys. The river bed jumps over and over. There are many trees and shrubs on both sides of the canyon. The river bends through the bushes. The speed of flow is rapid and slow. There are sand mountains and mulberry peaks on both sides.

Xilamulun Grand Canyon is called Xilamulun deep fault by geologists. This fault is located in the southern margin of Daxinganling Mountains and extends nearly East-West along Xilamulun River, with a length of 340 km and a width of 50 km. The Canyon Scenic Area is more than 60 kilometers long. A river in the valley, called Xilamulun River, originates from the source head of Haolaihure Township in Keqi. The river flows down the Grand Canyon and converges with more than 50 large and small rivers along the way. The water potential is increasing, the current is turbulent, and the drop of several kilometers is more than 100 meters, forming a very valuable water energy resource. The source of Xilamulun River belongs to Hunshandake sandy land. The sand dunes here are like ridges and chains. The round sandy land on the top of the dunes suddenly subsides. It is a dustpan like basin surrounded by mountains on three sides. In the basin, a hundred springs are rushing, such as boiling water, rising from the bottom of the pot, springs or spray columns, intermittently; or oblique spray overflows, with whirlpool ripples; white waves merge into water pools day by day, flowing eastward down the gorge.
