Historical evolution

In 1764, LAN Shaoyuan, the first owner of Tai'an building in Tai'an, Tai Po, made a fortune in business and began to build a stone square building. It means "one room in peace and one floor in peace", so it is called "Tai'an building".

In 2001, Tai'an building and Lianfeng calyx building declared world cultural heritage together.

In June 2004, Dapu County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, invested 50 million yuan to build the West Lake Park, a large-scale protection park of Tai'an building, which is integrated with Tai'an building. The first phase is the main part of the park, covering an area of 334 mu, with a total investment of more than 48 million yuan. It was completed at the end of December 2004.

From 2004 to 2005, the people's Government of Tai'an County and the Provincial Department of culture allocated more than 1.8 million yuan to repair Tai'an building in Tai'an, and to restore the roof tiles and floating eaves according to their original appearance.

In 2016, Meizhou municipal Party committee and government raised 14 million yuan to repair Tai'an building, Lianfeng calyx building, rongludi, enyuandi, Shizhai Tulou, Xie Jinyuan's former residence, Zhang Bishi's former residence, Meizhou academy, Xingning academy, and municipal and county-level cultural relics protection units. Repair the old as before and restore its historical style.
