Traffic information: Yaowang Valley is located on Yaowang mountain in Beichuan, the east gate of the pure land of the snow plateau. It is close to the east line of Jiuzhaigou Tourism Ring Road, 64 km (about 1 hour's drive) from Mianyang and 166 km (about 2.5 hours' drive) from Chengdu.

1. Chengdu

Deyang passes through Chengdu Mianyang Expressway (Mianyang North toll station) → passes through Mianjiang landscape Avenue to Jiangyou → passes through Jiuzhaigou tourist highway (26 km) to yaowanggu for about 2 hours. There is a notice billboard 200 meters in front of each expressway exit

2. Neijiang

Zigong

Luzhou neilu Expressway → Chengdu Mianyang Expressway (get off the expressway at Mianyang North toll station) → Jiangyou landscape Avenue in Mianyang (25km) to Jiangyou → Jiuzhaigou tourist highway (26km) to yaowanggu for about 5 hours. There are billboards at each exit of Chengdu Mianyang expressway

3. Xi'an

Hanzhong

Guangyuan passes through Sichuan Shaanxi highway (line 108) → Hanzhong → Guangyuan → Jiangyou North toll station of Mianyang Guangzhou expressway, gets off the expressway to Jiangyou → passes through Jiuzhaigou tourist highway 26 km to Yaowang Valley Xi'an for about 8 hours

4. Mianzhu

Shifang County anxiushui (first-class highway) → Anchang town (second-class highway) → Beichuan County town → yaowanggu about 3 hours to Beichuan County town, along the scenic road signs

Langzhong Langzhong (second-class highway) → Yanting (second-class highway) → Mianyang (30 km of Mianjiang landscape Avenue) → Jiangyou (via Jiuzhaigou tourist highway) → yaowanggu 4 hours or so. There are scenic road signs on the way to Mianyang

5. Chongqing

Fuling Chongqing (Chengdu Chongqing Expressway) → Chengdu (Chengdu Mianyang Expressway Mianyang North toll station off Expressway) → Mianyang (Mianjiang landscape Avenue 25 km) → Jiangyou (via Jiuzhaigou tourist highway 26 km) → to yaowanggu Chongqing about 6-7 hours, there are scenic spots billboard tips on Chengdu Mianyang expressway

6. Jiuzhaigou Jiuzhaigou Jiuzhaigou County Pingwu Yaowang Valley Scenic Area (total 240 km) about 5-6 hours, Pingwu to Beichuan section road signs

7. Huanglong Huanglong Pingwu Crystal Township Pingwu County Nanba town Jiangyou pass Yaowang valley about 4 hours Pingwu Beichuan road signs

Self driving guidebook:

Drive from Chengdu to Yaowang Valley, then go to Chengdu Mianyang Guangzhou Expressway at Zhaojue temple. Drive about 110km (about 1 hour) to Mianyang north exit Expressway (note that Mianyang has three expressways, namely Mianyang south, Mianyang and Mianyang north. It's convenient to go to Yaowang valley from Mianyang north exit Expressway). After leaving the expressway, it will be along Mianyang Jiangyou expressway for about half a year
