Stream: there are streams in the valley. The weather varies with seasons. In spring and summer, the bottom of the gorge can't be seen, the stream roars and the waves are splashing; in autumn and winter, the water falls, the stream twists and turns.

Pool: there are pools in the valley, which vary in depth and width. Some are dark green and unfathomable, some are clear, and the scales of swimming fish can be seen. Some are wide to several feet, and some are narrow to only two feet.

Waterfall: there are waterfalls in the valley, which vary in shape due to the mountain. Some of them fall from the precipice, and their scales are as thin and unrestrained as the Milky way; some of them scatter lightly from the top of the valley, like flying pearls to disperse the clouds and spray pearls to discharge the rocks. In addition to the four wonders of the valley, there are also seven dry waterfalls and 38 pools. There are no trees at the bottom of the valley, only Magnolia. The average distance between the two walls and the bottom of the valley is more than 70 meters, which is the original miscellaneous forest belt with an average width of about 400 meters. In particular, the ancient tree roots on the rock wall are very rare.

Related Legends

There are many legends about the origin of sitting dragon gorge. Two of them are widely spread. First, it is said that a green dragon and a white dragon occupy duanlongshan, making the Tujia people have good weather and abundant grain. The emperor worried that Erlong would be supported by the people and change the dynasty, and his throne would not be protected, so people nailed Erlong. The green dragon was nailed, while the white dragon ran all the way. In a hurry, he went into a deep and precipitous gorge, hence the name of sitting dragon gorge. On the other hand, every time there is a sudden drop of rain in the valley, the valley will sing and the river will respond as if the dragon is singing faintly; when the sun is shining, the rainbow shadow will diffuse in the sky, and it will become a wandering dragon, which is so famous that it is called "sitting dragon".
