Harbin Xigang Park

Xigang park is located in Gaogang at the west end of Hulan Park Road. It was built in 1916 and has a history of nearly 100 years. The east gate is the main gate, facing the street. In front of the gate, there is a three door wooden archway with fine carving. On the lintel in the middle of the archway, there are four characters in Lishu style: "Xigang Park". Maybe it's because of the change of seasons. At the end of September, what the reporter saw in Xigang Park was bleak and dilapidated. The leaves were yellowing and the hard cement pavement was mottled and damaged. It was very common. It was just a place with grass, trees and activities. The reporter learned from the inscription at the gate of the park that it was established at the beginning of the last century, and could not help but respect its founder. In the west, parks appeared with the maturity of the civil society. Before that, there were only royal gardens and private gardens of the nobility, which were difficult for ordinary people to walk in. Around most of the garden, standing on the small bridge in the garden, you can see that in the East, Hulan District is densely populated with houses; in the southwest, Hulan River goes around the city, with a wide sky and water; in the northwest, vegetable beds are connected, with a full view of pastoral scenery. In the desolation, what attracted reporters were Xiao Hong's graveyard and monument. Walking deep into the park, we finally saw Xiao Hong's tomb surrounded by iron fences and locked by chains.
