Houhuang village is an administrative village in Xitianwei Town, Licheng District, Putian City, covering an area of 1.5 square kilometers. There are two natural villages and six villager groups. To the east of puyong Road, houhuang village is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese.

In December 2018, the Ministry of housing and urban rural development plans to list houhuang village in the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages.

On June 6, 2019, it will be included in the list of the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages.

Houhuang village is located 2 kilometers to the east of Xitianwei Town, Licheng District, Putian City, surrounded by mountains on three sides, with beautiful mountains and rivers, fragrant flowers and fruits, and simple folk customs.

The village covers an area of about 1.5 square kilometers. It has six villager groups, 254 households, 36 joint representatives and a population of 1010. At present, there are 5 village "two committees" cadres and 74 party members.

Economics

The income of the villagers is mainly from enterprises working in the town and planting loquat, longan, vegetables and rice, with a per capita income of nearly 10000 yuan. It has won the honorary titles of "provincial health village", "Provincial Ecological Village" and "provincial civilized village".

Houhuang village, where Putian houhuang scenic spot is located, is known as "the first overseas Chinese village in Licheng District". It has a good reputation of "Nanyang style, dream home".
