Shiji village is located in the northeast of Dongyong Town, adjacent to Datong village by Liugang waterway in the west, facing Longzhen of Shawan Town by Shawan waterway in the north, Dongdao and Dongyong villages in the East, and connected to Dawen village in the south. Shiji village belonged to Shawan capital in Qing Dynasty, Yongan Township in the period of the Republic of China, and Shabi Township in Yiqu district at the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China. The main surnames of villagers are Guo, he, Chen, Li, Lu, etc. After the small township system was changed in 1953, it belonged to Shiji township of the Second District, with jurisdiction over Shiji, shabiliang, Dawen, Shatou and other places. After the establishment of the people's commune in 1958, shabiliang and Dawen were divided into another Dawen brigade. Shiji and Shatou were collectively called Shiji brigade. In 1960, it was divided into two groups, Shiji and Shatou. In 1962, the Shiji and Shatou brigades merged again and were still called Shiji brigades. It was changed to Shiji Township in 1984. It was changed to Shiji village in 1987. The villagers live on both sides of eight rivers (Anshun, dun, Dani, Erni, shaizao, backflow, Shiji and Xinyong). By the end of 2009, the village had a total area of 6.6 square kilometers, 5114 mu of arable land, 28 production teams, 1 economic society, 1 primary school, 1 kindergarten, 1599 households and 4489 permanent residents. The economy of the whole village is mainly industrial. There are 18 domestic and foreign enterprises in the village, mainly producing electronics, electrical appliances, clothing, furniture and so on. Agriculture has been adjusted in the process of continuous optimization, mainly planting bananas, fruit cane, vegetables and so on. In 2006, the total output value of industry and agriculture was 382.89 million yuan, of which the industrial output value was 347.32 million yuan, accounting for 90.7% of the total output value; the agricultural output value was 35.57 million yuan, accounting for 9.3% of the total output value. The collective net income of the whole village is 4 million yuan, the average income of rural people is 8581 yuan, and the average income of Laoping is 14041 yuan.
