The museum was completed in May 2005.

The museum mainly displays the southern Guangdong style and Lingnan style traditional cultural objects, including antiquities, sculptures, paintings, photos, etc. The museum is divided into four exhibition halls, which show the culture of Xiasha from different aspects.

The first exhibition hall is "the horse hall makes a difference", which mainly introduces the origin of Xiasha. It mainly displays some production and daily necessities used by Xiasha people in the past, including miniature models of tile roofed houses and some farm tools used by Xiasha villagers before. There is also a group of sculptures reflecting the scene of Xiasha people raising oysters, which is very eye-catching.

The third exhibition hall is "sharing potted vegetables in the world". Xiasha village's banquets have a history of hundreds of years. In addition to banquets on the Lantern Festival and some important days and festive activities, they also hold dragon dance, lion dance and traditional opera performances. They have eaten "banquets" and are looking forward to the prosperity of the country and the people in the coming year. According to reports, the big pot dish is made of 15 kinds of vegetables, such as oyster, duck, pork, eel, squid, tofu, bamboo, tooth mushroom, dried eel, meat skin, fungus, mushroom, celery and radish. This exhibition hall shows a close-up of the production process of large potted vegetables, and has two computer touch screens to facilitate people to further understand the information about large potted vegetables.

The fourth exhibition hall is "looking at the present with prosperity and prosperity, looking forward to the future with prosperity and prosperity".
