Bowen College of Lanzhou Jiaotong University is a secondary college of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, which was sponsored by Lanzhou Jiaotong University in 2002 and approved by Gansu Provincial Department of education. In 2004, it was recognized by the Ministry of education as the first batch of Independent Colleges in Gansu Province and belongs to the undergraduate level of ordinary colleges and universities. The college's enrollment is included in the national unified enrollment plan for colleges and universities, and is open to more than 20 provinces, cities and autonomous regions. The students who have been recruited since 2008 and have passed their studies will be awarded the graduation certificate of the school of liberal arts of Lanzhou Jiaotong University. Those who meet the conditions for granting bachelor's degree will be awarded the bachelor's degree certificate of the school of liberal arts of Lanzhou Jiaotong University.

The college inherits the excellent school running tradition of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, draws on the strengths of others, attaches great importance to absorbing the school running experience of famous universities inside and outside the province, and promotes the school spirit of "enriching morality, advocating culture and valuing things". It has initially formed a multidisciplinary university with engineering as the main subject and a combination of Arts, science, economics and management. In order to ensure the quality and level of teaching, the college attaches great importance to the basic construction. The college now covers an area of 500 mu, with an investment of more than 300 million yuan in the first phase of the project. More than 160000 square meters of teaching, administrative and living houses have been built and put into use. The second phase of the project, with an investment of more than 300 million yuan, has built 140000 square meters of teaching, living and administrative buildings, stadiums and stadiums, which have been put into use.

The college has a computer center, voice, engineering measurement, CAD, electrician, electronics, single chip microcomputer, telecommunications, electromagnetism, optics and other laboratories, as well as building materials, geotechnical, material mechanics and accounting comprehensive simulation, audio-visual room, studio, basic teaching laboratory and multi-media comprehensive training room. All kinds of laboratory equipment are advanced and complete, which can basically meet the requirements of experimental teaching need. In addition, the college can also share the professional laboratory resources of Lanzhou Jiaotong University. The campus is equipped with digital program-controlled telephone communication network, campus TV receiving system, broadband campus network and wireless broadcasting transmission system.
