Jingchu Institute of Technology

Jingchu Institute of technology, approved by the Ministry of education, was established in March 2007 on the basis of the merger of the former Jingmen vocational and technical college and Shayang Teachers College. The school is located in the central city of Jingmen, a famous historical and cultural city known as "Jingchu gateway", at the foot of the beautiful Bailong mountain.

The school has 16 teaching colleges (departments), with more than 17000 full-time ordinary and junior college students. There are 58 junior college majors and 11 undergraduate majors. In the next few years, the number of undergraduate majors will increase at an annual rate of 6-10, covering science, engineering, teaching, medicine, arts and other disciplines. Through deepening the teaching reform, adjusting the professional structure, and actively carrying out the exploration and practice of talent training mode, we have formed several distinctive specialties, such as numerical control technology, printing image and text information processing, primary education, nursing, Stomatology, etc. Writing, advanced mathematics, pathology, multimedia courseware making, web design and other five courses were rated as provincial quality courses. Sixteen kinds of teaching materials have been selected into the national teaching materials of the 11th Five Year Plan for general higher education. "Research on" two-stage "teaching and talent training mode of advanced nursing" won provincial teaching achievement award and 20 other provincial teaching awards.

The teaching staff of the school has been continuously improved and optimized. At present, there are more than 1100 teaching staff and more than 800 full-time teachers, among which there are more than 240 teachers with senior titles (31 professors, 19 with other senior titles; 166 associate professors, 28 with other deputy senior titles), accounting for 38.55% of the total number of full-time teachers; the school also employs 20 off campus part-time professors. There are more than 200 graduate teachers (doctors and Masters), accounting for 30.49% of the total number of full-time teachers, and more than 100 are studying for doctor's or master's degrees. Five experts are entitled to the special allowance of the State Council. The scientific research ability of the university has been continuously enhanced. In recent years, teachers have undertaken more than 100 national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects, won more than 10 provincial and municipal science and technology progress awards, published more than 40 books, and edited and participated in editing more than 230 teaching materials. More than 300 papers have been published in core journals, more than 50 papers have been included in SCI and EI, and more than 100 papers have been included in domestic core journals.

The school has excellent teaching conditions. It covers an area of 2165 mu, with a building area of 582900 square meters. The campus has reasonable planning, perfect facilities, complete functions and beautiful environment. At present, the school has three campuses, namely the main campus, Huyaguan campus and Moon Lake campus. The three campuses share teaching resources with the main campus according to the principles of scientific setting of functions and reasonable allocation. The school will focus on the development of the main campus, and ultimately achieve a centralized school campus. The total value of teaching equipment is 105 million yuan. There are 99 training centers and laboratories for numerical control technology, printing engineering, oral technology, basic physics, electrical and electronic, IPv6 network, clinical pathological examination, and 128 off campus training bases. There are 923000 paper books, 400000 e e-books, 2452 paper journals and 8000 e-journals. The library has an automatic management system (ILAS Ⅱ) and two kinds of electronic literature databases.

The school adheres to the student-centered principle. No student drops out of school due to family poverty. The employment rate of graduates has been stable at more than 90%. The correct idea of running a school, strict management and high-quality teaching have cultivated high-quality students. Liu Fangyan's deeds of "taking her blind mother to university" have attracted the attention of the leaders of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of education and the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee, and has been listed as the top ten "Chinese model of filial piety and respect for the elderly" in 2006.
