Tibet police officer college, formerly known as the Tibet public security training class, was established in September 1956. From July 1957 to March 1959, he moved to Beijing with the approval of the State Council and established a Tibetan Class in the Central People's College of Public Security (now Public Security University). In April 1960, the Tibetan Class of the Central People's Public Security College moved back to Lhasa to run a school, known as the autonomous regional public security school. In March 1965, it was renamed Tibet Autonomous Region Political and legal cadre school. In June 1973, it was renamed the public security school of the Public Security Bureau of the Tibet Autonomous Region. In December 1974, it was restored to the political and legal Cadre School of the Tibet Autonomous Region. In May 1978, it was renamed the public security school of the Public Security Bureau of the Tibet Autonomous Region. In November 1980, with the approval of the government of the Tibet Autonomous Region, it was renamed the people's Police School of the Tibet Autonomous Region, which was subordinate to the Public Security Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region and officially opened academic education. On April 16, 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of education, it was transformed into a Tibet police academy. On September 8, 2003, it was established and began to recruit students.

Tibet police officer college is a public institution with full funding from the political and legal departments. It is established at the deputy department level and is in charge of the Public Security Department of Tibet Autonomous Region. There are 12 Deputy county-level institutions in the school, including the office, the administrative and Labor Affairs Office (Discipline Inspection and supervision office), the educational administration office, the student affairs office, the general affairs office, the investigation department, the public security management department, the police management department, the law department, the basic Department, the training department, and the scientific research institute, with a total staff of 375. There are 135 teaching staff, including 68 full-time teachers. There are 1318 students, including 880 general college students, 289 pilot classes and 149 correspondence students. At present, there are 10 teachers in Tibet. There are eight specialties in police management, public security management, investigation, domestic security, traffic management engineering, economic crime investigation, information security and network supervision, and public security secretary. The length of schooling is three years.

Over the years, under the cordial care of the Party committee and the government of the autonomous region, under the correct leadership of the public security department and the strong guidance of the education department, through the joint efforts of the Party committee and the staff of the school, we have conscientiously implemented the party's education policy, adhered to the socialist direction of running a school, adhered to the attitude of being highly responsible for public security education, persisted in political construction, strict management, and constant reform and innovation, We should work hard, actively carry out the construction of the school, and gradually standardize the management and teaching of the school. In the past 29 years, we have trained a large number of practical talents in line with the characteristics of our district's public security work, trained more than 2600 public security graduates for the Tibet public security front, trained more than 10000 on-the-job police in turn, and trained more than 1800 security personnel. Graduates are all over the region's public security organs at all levels, and most of them have become business backbones. Some of them have taken leading positions in departments, bureaus, departments, institutes and teams, playing an important role in the front line of Tibet's public security work and making due contributions to maintaining Tibet's stability and development.

The school always adheres to "political construction", and strives to cultivate new talents who are politically strong, professionally refined, strictly disciplined, upright in style, loyal to the party, the motherland, the people and the law, have innovative consciousness and ability, adapt to the needs of police work in the new era, and can ensure to "win, speak up and catch up" in actual combat, which is in line with the characteristics of public security work in our district .

In order to highlight the characteristics of Public Security Colleges and universities, improve students' practical ability, increase the opening rate of practical courses, and meet the needs of experimental teaching, the school always attaches importance to strengthening laboratory construction. There are trace examination room, simulated interrogation room, autopsy room, criminal photography laboratory, document examination laboratory, Investigation Laboratory, multimedia voice room, computer room, etc. 85% of subjects have realized multimedia teaching. The school plans to continue to vigorously strengthen the construction of laboratories, focusing on the construction of physical evidence testing, legalization, criminal photography and other laboratories, and strive to build the Key Laboratory of the school into an important base for Tibet's criminal science and technology and physical evidence testing through several years of efforts.

Through years of unremitting efforts, the school's work has made brilliant achievements.
