Yunnan Vocational College of culture and art

Yunnan art school, founded in 1956, is the first public secondary professional school in Yunnan Province to cultivate art talents. In May 2004, with the approval of Yunnan Provincial People's government, Yunnan Vocational College of culture and art was established on the basis of Yunnan art school, which promoted the school running level from technical secondary school to junior college and integrated the University and technical secondary school. At present, the college is one of the only 18 provincial public art vocational colleges in China. It is a designated training institution for cultural professionals approved by the Ministry of culture and an actor qualification evaluation unit of China performers Association. It is also a standing director unit of China Art Vocational Education Association and a Yunnan minority art talent training center approved and awarded by Yunnan Ethnic Affairs Committee At that time, it was the only cooperation unit of China Conservatory of music and Beijing Dance Academy to hold correspondence education in Yunnan.

For more than 50 years since its establishment, the college has adhered to the direction of "focusing on the stage, cultivating talents, relying on culture, and facing the market". With distinctive characteristics, it has cultivated a large number of outstanding talents for the prosperity and development of Yunnan's cultural and artistic undertakings. Many graduates later became famous artists at home and abroad. In the long-term school running practice, the College strives to develop both inheritance and innovation, and pays attention to vocational education. It adheres to the school running concept of "combination of production, learning and research", attaches great importance to the cultivation of innovative, skilled and applied high-quality talents who meet the needs of social development, and forms a school running pattern of "one body and two wings" with ordinary full-time higher vocational education as the main part and social training and vocational skill appraisal as the auxiliary part. The College (school) consists of music department, dance department, drama department, media art department, social culture department, continuing education college and other teaching and training institutions. It has more than 2000 students at all levels and various types. It has 14 majors in music performance, dance performance, drama performance, art design and so on. It has "dream Yunnan" and "Lishui Jinsha" in Suzhou, Kunming, Lijiang and other places The national art research, an academic journal jointly sponsored by Yunnan Institute of national art, is a national core journal.

Since the establishment of the college, teachers and students have been received by Party and state leaders such as Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Chen Yi, Li Xiannian, Jiang Zemin, Li Ruihuan, Li Lanqing, Zeng Qinghong and Wu Yi.
