Anhui Electrical Engineering Vocational and technical college is a provincial public full-time college approved by Anhui Provincial People's government and registered by the Ministry of education. The college is affiliated to Anhui electric power company and is under the guidance of Anhui Provincial Department of education. It is a high vocational college of electric power with distinct characteristics, which is based on engineering, combined with engineering, management and finance.

The college is located in Hefei, the provincial capital. The south campus is located in Baohe Avenue, and the north campus is located in Huangshan Road, where universities are concentrated. It covers an area of more than 240 mu, with a building area of 100000 square meters. Have good teaching facilities and perfect life sports facilities. With a long history, the college is formed by the merger of Anhui electric power staff University and Hefei Electric Power School. Founded in 1964, Hefei Electric Power School is one of the first batch of national key technical secondary schools; Anhui electric power staff University, founded in 1979, was awarded the national adult higher education evaluation excellent school by the former State Education Commission. With rigorous scholarship and distinctive characteristics, the two universities have trained a large number of production technology backbone and grass-roots management cadres for Anhui electric power industry and other industries, and become the cradle of electric power talents. In 2008, it passed the comprehensive evaluation of the talent training work of the college by the Provincial Department of education, and was listed as the construction unit of "provincial demonstrative higher vocational colleges" by the Provincial Department of education.

The college has 16 specialties in four categories: Power Engineering, power engineering, automation and information engineering, and management engineering. The specialty setting and curriculum content closely follow the development direction of Higher Vocational and technical education, highlight the training objectives of application-oriented and skill oriented professionals, base on Anhui, face the whole country, and meet the actual needs of power and electrical industry, large and medium-sized enterprises for Higher Vocational and technical talents. In recent years, graduates mainly go to large and medium-sized power plants, power supply companies, power construction companies, thermal power plants, power transmission and distribution companies and related enterprises in Anhui and East China. The college has a dedicated and innovative teaching staff. It also has 600 MW supercritical thermal power simulation system, 300 MW thermal power simulation system, power grid dispatching operation and integrated automation simulation system, 500 kV, 220 kV substation simulation system, circulating fluidized bed simulation system, PLC training room, senior electrician training room, metalworking training base, etc. In 2003, the college officially became the power sub center of Hefei engineering training base of national higher vocational students training (teacher training).
