Hunan Polytechnic College is a public full-time college approved by Hunan Provincial People's government and registered by the Ministry of education.

The college is located in Xiangtan, the hometown of the great man. The college is divided into the South and the north. Teaching building, science and technology building, lecture hall, training building, library, gymnasium and other teaching, experimental life, cultural and entertainment facilities are all available. The college has a teaching staff with both theoretical attainments and practical experience. There are more than 220 full-time and part-time teachers. 80% of the total number are teachers with medium and high professional titles, and 50% are "double qualified" teachers. With more than 4000 students, the college has set up more than 20 majors, such as numerical control technology, mold design and manufacturing, computer network technology, mechatronics technology, traditional Chinese medicine, art design, business English, computer and application, coal mining technology, coal geology and exploration, foreign tourism, etc. the college has formed a school running pattern of coordinated development of higher vocational education, adult specialty and short-term training Bureau.
