Linfen was called Pingyang in ancient times. Located in the central and southern part of Shanxi Province, in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, it is rich in natural resources, outstanding people, profound culture and has a long history. It is an important birthplace of the Chinese nation and the Yellow River civilization. According to Yao Dian, Emperor Yao in the primitive commune era was the capital of Pingyang.
