Yichun vocational college is a national public full-time ordinary university established on the basis of the merger of Yichun branch of Heilongjiang University and Yichun Normal School of Heilongjiang Province with the direct approval of the Ministry of education in July 1999. It retains the school brand of Yichun branch of Heilongjiang University and continues to recruit undergraduates in 2006. It is located in Yichun, the forest capital of the motherland, the best summer resort in China and the national garden city. The college has fixed assets of 200 million yuan, covers an area of 360000 square meters, and a building area of 150000 square meters. The total value of teaching equipment is 21 million yuan, and the library has a collection of 250000 books. The college has 408 teaching staff, including 274 full-time and part-time teachers, 210 full-time teachers and 111 senior professional titles. The excellent hardware conditions and relaxed education environment have attracted a large number of domestic celebrities and foreign experts and scholars to give lectures in the college, forming a strong academic atmosphere in the college, especially the establishment of "Heilongjiang province Mao Zedong Poetry Research Association" in the college and the convening of "the fourth national Mao Zedong Poetry Research Association" in the college, which has improved the popularity of the college.
