Hunan Engineering Vocational and technical college is a state-owned public full-time ordinary university set up independently by the land and resources department with the approval of Hunan Provincial People's government and the record of the Ministry of education. The college covers an area of 272400 square meters, with fixed assets of 318 million yuan, teaching and scientific research equipment of 39.942 million yuan and 388900 volumes of literature. There are more than 8600 full-time students and 370 full-time teachers. The "double qualification" teachers account for 60% of the total number of teachers, and a relatively stable part-time teacher team with reasonable structure has been established. The college actively promotes the work of "double certificates", which is confirmed by the Ministry of labor and social security of the people's Republic of China as "national vocational skill appraisal institute", "professional skill appraisal station for special types of work" and "OSTA computer information technology examination station". At the same time, students can obtain the national vocational qualification certificate corresponding to their major. Since 2003, the college has jointly set up self-taught college to undergraduate teaching classes with Xiangtan University, Hunan Agricultural University and other undergraduate colleges, and signed college to undergraduate agreements with Jishou University and Hunan Institute of engineering, so that graduates can enter corresponding undergraduate colleges.
