The college adheres to the school running orientation of "rooted in Caofeidian, serving the new Tangshan, facing Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, radiating around the Bohai Sea"; integrates the national high-quality vocational college project with "Chinese characteristics and world level" into the construction of Tangshan as an international coastal city; Implement the spirit of the important instructions of "three efforts to build" and "three in the forefront" put forward by the general secretary to the heroic city and the heroic people when he visited Tangshan, and highlight the mission of vocational education to serve regional development transformation and national development strategy.

In October 2014, the College moved to Caofeidian, the main battlefield of Beijing Tianjin Hebei coordinated development, from the main urban area of Tangshan, a century old industrial town. The new campus invested by the government covers an area of 1644 mu. The first phase of the project is 338000 square meters, and the second phase is 180000 square meters.

There are 15000 students in the college, including 8 departments of automation engineering, mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering, construction and chemical engineering, art design, management engineering, computer engineering and preschool education. It has set up 43 specialties for modern manufacturing industry and modern service industry. Port logistics, EMU technology, ceramic art design and other seven majors are the major supported by central finance. Three provincial application technology R & D centers including excellent provincial academician workstation, rapid manufacturing, Bone China in Colleges and universities, and electric vehicle hub technology have been built.

Nearly 200 high-level talents of master's degree, doctor's degree and postdoctoral degree are independently recruited by key colleges, enterprises and overseas. Among the teachers, there are national labor models, technical experts, "May 1st" labor medal winners, special paste experts of the State Council, excellent teachers of Huang Yanpei's vocational education, national and provincial ceramic masters. Four students won the first prize in the national industrial robot competition. Graduates are welcomed by employers such as tangche, Sanyou and Caofeidian port.

In the past 40 years since its establishment, in the innovative city of Phoenix Nirvana, the school has shown great love, gratitude, seven steps up and three changes of school name; in the predicament, it has carried forward with great efforts, persevered in innovation, spared no effort and left no regrets, seized opportunities and leaped development. 15 enterprises and schools have been merged and bought out one after another, with "integration of front school and back factory, production and learning, close to the region and open school running"; majors and specialty groups have been built, emerging enterprises and international high-level universities have been introduced to build and share; colleges and enterprises in Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, the United States and other 12 countries have carried out exchanges and cooperation, and school running projects of mechatronics technology have been carried out with DIT in Ireland. One belt, one road, is to expand and cooperate with 9 countries, including Russia, Kampuchea and India.

The college took the lead in setting up Caofeidian Industrial Vocational Education Group in Hebei Province, which is a special report by Xinhua news agency. The three schools under the group's integrated management have built three "national brand" projects: the engineering and vocational college has built a national exemplary (backbone) excellent vocational college, the technician college has built a national high skilled personnel training base, and the Tangshan Vocational Education Center has built a national secondary vocational reform and development demonstration school. The college has four state-owned enterprises including Tangshan fine arts porcelain factory and Tangshan Ceramic machinery factory, four new enterprises including Changchun Hexin machinery and Tangshan tuoyouda technology company, five national vocational education training bases including mechatronics, and six industrial training centers including national staff training. The college is a national digital campus experimental school, a national vocational education innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration unit, and a Hebei university student innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration incubation base; its open school running has won the second prize of national teaching achievement.
