Hohhot Vocational College

Hohhot vocational college is a full-time ordinary college approved by the people's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and it is also the only college affiliated to Hohhot municipal government. The school running history of the college can be traced back to Guisui school in 1907. Up to now, it has been more than 100 years. Among them, vocational education has been running for more than 50 years. It is the cradle of talents for the economic and social development of Hohhot and the autonomous region.

At present, the college has two campuses in the East and West, covering an area of 1762 mu, with a total construction area of more than 500000 square meters and more than 20000 students. It has 14 secondary colleges, 2 teaching departments, 3 teaching auxiliary departments, 2 research institutes and 13 administrative organizations. At present, there are 711 full-time teachers, including 290 with deputy senior titles, 42 with senior titles and 18 with doctorates. Enrollment has covered 48 majors in 12 categories, including culture and education, finance and economics, manufacturing, tourism management, food, biochemical drugs, electronic information, transportation, art design and media, civil engineering, environmental protection, agriculture, etc. The college always adheres to the school running purpose of "serving the local economy and cultivating high-quality skilled talents", actively explores the school enterprise cooperation mechanism, and constantly improves the talent training mode of "paying equal attention to post ability and comprehensive quality and combining work with study". So far, 113 practice and training bases, 4 productive training bases and 137 off campus training bases have been established. The college has 15 provincial excellent courses and 9 provincial brand majors. Since the implementation of the credit system and the "double certificate" system, the average rate of students obtaining skill certificates is 89%.

The college has always attached great importance to the employment of graduates. From 2006 to 2012, the college was awarded the title of "advanced collective of employment of college graduates" by the Education Department of the autonomous region. In 2013, the college was awarded the honorary title of "advanced unit of employment of the whole region" by the government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
